Few spaces are as socially essential as the library, since reading is a fundamental part of the development of children and adolescents. Gustavo Martins' project for Janelas CASACOR, São Paulo edition , was born with a social purpose: to be a true Story Box ! The environment has a two-stage route, starting with the exhibition, in Panamericana Square, and then its final destination in a community in the city, where it will be transformed into a play space for children aged five to eleven.

At its first stop, the container translates what the architect calls “a new vision of home office”. Instead of a formal and sober decoration, the space is entirely covered in wood, with comfortable furniture and a warm atmosphere. The highlight is the zigzag bookshelf in the background, which lends an irreverence to the straight lines of the Box. “It is a library of memories, of recollections”.

The final stop at the end of the project will give it a completely different function. Instead of adults working, the occupants will be the children and their games. It will bring “stories of the world to children, amidst colorful tables and poufs”.
To accommodate the new activities, some changes will be made. The carpet will be removed, leaving the floor freer, and more cheerful and colorful furniture will be added. On the day the library opens to the community, there will be a special event with the artist Hélio Degasperi. will do graffiti on the external walls.
