With the growth of the urban population and the consequent decreases in residential areas, the presence of home libraries is becoming a rarity . Where we used to see shelves filled with books, today there are only small niches or boxes stored in some forgotten corner. Technology also played a role in this transformation, with e-books and digital devices gaining ground and making physical books less present in our daily lives. For many, the magic of leafing through a book is being lost , while the practicality and speed of digital information take over.
Below, we selected some CASACOR environments that can inspire you to create libraries of different sizes and styles, check them out!

Jose Monteverde, Lorena Rotalde - Bookstore
02/13 -

Jose Monteverde, Lorena Rotalde - Librería. This space is inspired by the poetry of José Watanabe, one of Peru's most important contemporary poets and artists. The space reflects his way of seeing poetry as an act of contemplation, of valuing what surrounds us, in constant change and transformation. The bookstore is a dynamic, adaptable and free space. Shelves in three sections refer to haiku. Furniture allows movement, transformation and constant change.

Romário Rodrigues - Weather Pages

Romário Rodrigues - Pages of Time. The family reading room combines aesthetics and literature as records that span time. The 38 m² contain a fireplace and an illuminated floating bar, carved from pearl santana quartzite, extracted in Ceará. Maximalism translates the expansion brought by reading. Antique and design-art pieces – such as the Rio chaise, by Oscar Niemeyer, and the sculpture by Sérvulo Esmeraldo – highlight roots, memories and references.

Patricia Makhoul - Anima Libri Book Gallery
10/13 -

Patricia Makhoul - Anima Libri Book Gallery. Urban landscape, literature and design meet in this space that defies conventions. By bringing street art into CASACOR, Patricia Makhoul presents a project full of personality. The feeling is of entering a parallel universe. The bookshelves create an inviting labyrinth, an immersion in an environment of contemplation and knowledge, a temple for the body and soul. The lighting is soft, essential to create a calm, cozy atmosphere. As a contrast, the graffiti in the external area and the writing that covers the entire length of the ceiling – preserving the identity of the house, with its marks of time. The urban essence of this bookstore is also reinforced by the characteristics of some construction elements, such as the reference to cement and the structure of the façade, with gold-colored rebar. “The bookstore opens doors to new interpretations and dialogues, connecting with a diverse audience and establishing a bridge between the world of words and the streets”.
