Light Bath - Deca Space is a kitsch kaleidoscope

“People should color their bathrooms. Why can’t a shower stall be yellow?” This was the question that veteran Sig Bergamin asked himself when he conceived his project for Janelas CASACOR, São Paulo edition . Named Banho de Luz - Espaço Deca , the environment is an ambitious and fun chromatic composition, which breaks the gray monotony of the city. The atmosphere is constructed almost entirely by the effects of the sun's rays. Like a kaleidoscope, the colored glass creates patterns that are reflected in the mirrored background. As the incidence of the sun changes throughout the day, the mosaic changes as well. This dynamic profusion of shades create a true “bath”, not of water, but of color.

Kitsch Glamour

The container has three sections: showers, bathroom and massage area, all with transparent and mirrored furniture, to enhance the light that passes through. A creative glass bathtub filled with balls and rubber ducks stands out.

The occupants of these areas could not escape the glamorous kitsch style that Sig chose for the environment. Four mannequins luxuriously dressed in robes and towels strike poses worthy of a 1980s photo shoot, with makeup, heels and even rose petals on the floor.
