With 45 m², the architect invested in textures to bring sophistication, ranging from the walls and ceiling, to the fabric of the bed and also to the bathroom counter, specially developed for the CASACOR Brasília project. The lighting fixtures designed by Waldir Junior stand out, as does the suspended pendant, mirror and designer armchair. The project also includes a 150x150cm painting by M. Cavalcanti.

The bathroom is a room that is increasingly taking center stage in homes: more than just a place for hygiene, it is an area where we relax, take care of ourselves and even grow plants . To make this space cozy and functional, decoration is essential. And coverings and metals make all the difference in the project. Check out six tips below from architects Andressa Danielli and Vanessa Pasqual , from the ADVP Arquitetura office, and Sabrina Salles - all from CASACOR São Paulo - to help you choose the right bathroom and discover what's trending for 2023.

Large format coverings

Whether in slabs or even in panels, coverings are increasingly larger: today, there are pieces on the market that exceed 3 m in length. “We usually cover floors and walls with the same material, using some decorative element on only one of the surfaces”, say the professionals at ADVP.

In addition to using fewer pieces, there are also fewer joints and grout, which creates a feeling of spaciousness that can be enjoyed even in small spaces.

Locksmith box

For Sabrina Salles, one of the trends in current bathrooms is to use a ceiling shower model and also extend the shower enclosure to the ceiling – here, it is worth remembering that it is essential to check the air circulation in the space, since the shower enclosure up to the ceiling can trap the steam from the shower inside the bathing area.

As metalwork is in fashion in all areas of the house, the bathroom could not be different: the metal + glass combination goes very well in the shower and even in the furniture in wet areas.

Bet on natural stones

“A strong trend is bathrooms covered in stone, such as Onyx or Calacatta, which give uniformity and sophistication to the space”, explain the professionals at ADVP.

Wal Bastos - Lavabo Galhardia. In addition to showers and taps, opting for colors in towel racks, waste baskets and even sink accessories is a good idea.

Geometric coverings

If the idea is to create a more modern look, using geometric-shaped coverings in more than one color is one of the trends that Andressa and Vanessa recommend. Today, there are options on the market in different types, shapes and colors, and many companies also create custom coverings.

Another way to use more than one color is to create a half-wall – and the solution can involve different materials and heights.

Cozy lighting

Bath time should also be a time to relax and recharge your batteries. Lighting is essential for this: using indirect light sources is Sabrina Salles' tip, as this makes the rooms feel more welcoming.

If space allows, be sure to make the most of natural light as well.
