Ateliê da Vila brings the beauty of simplicity to CASACOR Minas 2019

(Jomar Bragança/CASACOR)

This charming building is so delicate that it resembles a dollhouse. Called Ateliê da Vila , it was designed by Casa Tereze for CASACOR Minas Gerais 2019 and is located in an open, green area of the exhibition headquarters. During the exhibition, the space hosted workshops and other craft activities. This year, the office is participating in the first edition of Janelas CASACOR, Minas Gerais edition , which starts on October 30th!

I want a house in the country

(Jomar Bragança/CASACOR)

Contrary to what it may seem, this is a construction made of containers. To escape the harsh, industrial style that containers are usually associated with, the professionals covered the exterior walls with pine paneling, giving it a rustic, country-style aesthetic.
As you approach, you will soon find the wooden deck that connects the indoor and outdoor spaces. A pergola made of natural coconut fiber filters the light and projects shadows, creating a cozy atmosphere, punctuated by potted plants. The many cushions and slender chairs provide a nostalgic simplicity to the Studio, making it idyllic, almost Provençal. They seem to invite you to sit down and have an afternoon tea, with milk, biscuits and a more than privileged view of nature.

Creativity and subtleties

Inside is the creative space. The small but comfortable living room has a large work table and handmade metalwork chairs, all with different colors and patterns.

With the exception of the brighter hues on the seats and backrests, the rest of the palette is light and neutral, consisting of light shades of green, yellow and earthy touches on the cushions. On the walls, the works of Cildo Meireles and Anna Maria Maiolino stand out. The furniture was developed by the office itself for the environment.
