Architects stray from the obvious with bathroom projects by CASACOR SC

With practically all the bathrooms functional, the architects of CASACOR Santa Catarina 2016 surprised by avoiding the obvious in the environments set up at the exhibition. Check out some of the solutions adopted in the spaces!

Adapted

With the challenge of maintaining a relevant aesthetic proposal, without leaving the history of the listed building aside, architect Elaine Engenheiro and interior designer Luiza Porto, from the Estúdio UM office, started by cutting out some elements belonging to the original construction and harmonizing them with references to the Art Deco style. Toillet rescues the marquetry work on the floor, but with the use of porcelain tiles, instead of wood. The duo created a geometric matrix divided into three distinct porcelain finishes. The graphic effect is surprising and appears to be handmade. On the walls, a composition with smaller pieces of the same material. The space is proof that the requirements to meet functionality in people's routine, based on technical accessibility standards, are not a limitation to expressing personality.

Sophistication

In the Lovers Suite , by architect Laura Gransotto, the bathroom follows the same sophisticated line as the bedroom with decorative and punctual lamps. Highlight is the launch of the wall cladding, which is a high-tech, fiberglass-infused natural stone sheet, Skinner, 3 mm thick. In addition to this material, there is travertine marble on the top and floor, an iron structure for the counter and furniture covering in natural leather.

The Vinho & Prosa bathrooms, designed by Cris Passing and Giovane Marangoni, feature bronze stones and metals as trends. With 7.3 m², the bespoke joinery and the use of crocodile leather on the seats give sophistication and hospitality to the bathrooms, which follow the same line as the Vinho & Prosa environment. With spot lighting on the stones that are original to the House, the bathrooms show the contrast between the rusticity of natural materials and custom-made furniture. The color of the wall, which refers to the theme, has a very suggestive name: “Merlot”.

Mystery

At Galeria e Lounge Avex , by architect Rico Mendonça, the all-black bathroom (coverings and blinds) is the darkness of the labyrinth and adds a tone of mystery to the environment, also underground. In space, the mirror is shaped like a sun, which would be the main objective of Icarus' flight. In this same space, pay attention to the machined and golden panel and the custom-made sink countertop made from reforested wood.
