Shortly after purchasing this new
250 m² apartment in Vila Nova Conceição (SP), chef and digital influencer
Carol Magalhães commissioned a general renovation project from architect
David Bastos , a professional from the
CASACOR SP 2024 cast. “The client asked for the social areas to be integrated and the option of isolating or integrating the kitchen into the living room, when necessary,” says David.
According to the architect, the biggest changes in the construction company's plan occurred in the layout of the
kitchen , which is now open to the living room, and in the private area, which previously had three suites and, after the renovation, now has two larger ones: a master suite for the client and another for her son.
In terms of decor, all the furniture is new and some works of art that were already part of the family's collection were used in the project. "
In the social area, for example, we prioritized furniture that fit into a color palette with a neutral and light base, in shades of gray , precisely to highlight some of these pieces," says David. In the master suite, the neutral palette features shades of light beige to convey delicacy and serenity, while in the son's suite, sober and masculine tones prevail.
In the living room decor, David Bastos highlights the neutral base that highlights the carpet with a circular pattern, the
carpentry bookcase with 24 niches around the TV and the designer furniture, such as the Águas coffee table (by
Domingos Tótora ), the set of poufs, the high-back Amoebe armchair (created by
Verner Panton in 1970) and the modular C141 sofa, designed by
Artur de Menezes . In the dining room, the dining table with a green Guatemala marble top, the Joy chairs (by
Jader Almeida ) and the pendant light steal the show.
In the kitchen and gourmet area, the highlights are the sliding doors in carpentry (which allow the two spaces to be isolated from each other and from the living room), the cabinets, the Iaiá stools (by
Gustavo Bittecourt ) and the countertops, floor and island in Raffaello quartzite.
