For his first home, a young lawyer from Niterói (RJ) bought this
95 m² apartment and called on architect
Fabiano Ravaglia , from
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro , to do a complete renovation.

“He wanted to have his own property not only to receive friends and family but also potential clients. Since the
brief was to create a project to impress, I had total creative freedom,” says Ravaglia.

“
As soon as he received the keys, he asked for a gourmet counter on the balcony and a china cabinet in the living room ,” he adds. Overall, the architect opted for
sober colors in various shades of gray, in contrast with
natural wood (walnut), to create elegant and masculine environments, with a lot of personality and rich in details.

One of the biggest highlights is the main wall of the room, which received
half-round moldings with a boiseries effect and two shades of cement texture to create a
contemporary graphic interference (rectangular) on a reference to classical architecture. The round armchair is upholstered in sweatshirt and denim.

In the
dining room ,
three modular open shelves – ideal for supporting plants, objects and books – serve as a backdrop to the space. The dining table with a glass base and top, the caramel-colored leather chairs, the Italian steel and opaque blown glass pendants and the wall mirror with an organic design reinforce the light look of the space.

Originally, there was a brick barbecue area on the
balcony , which was removed to make way for a
vertical garden with automatic irrigation . On the other side, a fully equipped gourmet counter was created, in response to the resident's request. The floor was completely redone with porcelain planks with a wood texture.

Despite being very narrow, the guest room was designed to be a multifunctional space, with solutions for a home office, home theater, closet and bedroom. The sofa bed was custom-made to fit between the window and the bathroom door. Behind it, a floor-to-ceiling bookcase, full of niches and doors, helps the resident organize books and documents.
