Structural reforms and a new atmosphere in the decoration guided the
Terra Capobianco office to create a new home for a single man, owner of this 50 m² apartment located in one of the most noble neighborhoods of São Paulo:
Moema .
The footage – which is already quite small – appeared to be even smaller due to the number of divisions in the rooms.
The original plan had six rooms , so the first step was to reduce this number. Except for those that delimited the bathroom, all the walls were brought down to the floor . The bedrooms, originally two, were converted into a
comfortable suite with a walk-in closet , and integrated into the living room through a hidden sliding panel in the TV cabinet.
The old balcony gave way to an
airy dining room integrated with the kitchen . A round table was chosen to compose the space to ensure good circulation.
The
kitchen took over part of the service bathroom and laundry room, protected by a
wired glass door . The transparency allowed natural light – previously reserved only for the bathroom – to enter the entire length of the apartment.
The only wall that remained was
covered with slats and serves as
a TV stand . The furniture defines a unique and striking volume in the apartment and ensures greater isolation for the bathroom and closet.
