The city of São Paulo has countless riches. One of them is its architecture, both in the monuments present in the center and also in its many apartments, which preserve a
historical, nostalgic and affectionate atmosphere ; as is the case of this apartment located in the
República region, which has
wooden floors and high ceilings – very common characteristics in period apartments.
Despite the pleasant retro atmosphere, the
Moreira do Valle architecture studio was called in to bring more personality to the space. The idea was to preserve as many historical elements as possible, but mix them with more modern and contemporary elements.
Works of art were essential to create this bridge between
the new and the old . A more stripped-down style was chosen to make the connection between the different styles, in addition to combining
comfort, functionality and beauty .
Strong colors cover the walls of the space to make the
environment more cheerful and stand out . In addition, the living areas are
integrated to promote communication between residents and their visitors.
Working on the lighting was essential to highlight both the architectural elements and the works of art . With this in mind, the large windows were used to maximize the entry of natural light. In addition, spotlights were incorporated into the project to highlight paintings and other works of art. It is also worth noting that
natural vegetation was distributed throughout the apartment , bringing freshness and life to the space with various ceramic vases and climbing plants that complement the decor.
