Whether it's the
purple walls , the
vintage vibe , or the
cozy familiarity of the setting, there's something oddly appealing about the apartment of
Monica Geller , a character from the global (and timeless) phenomenon that is
Friends . The place where the most iconic scenes of the series were filmed, the most famous
living room in the world – and that's no exaggeration: 10 seasons were filmed with the decor almost unchanged and, at the height of the series, viewers from more than 100 countries visited the place. every week – has a lot to teach us about
living comfortably and in an organized way .
Despite being based in the United States, and very well adapted to the New York context of the 1990s, we are left wondering:
what would the Friends apartment be like if it were set in Brazil? To find out the answer,
SimpleGhar created digital renderings of Monica's apartment remodeled with Brazilian interior design trends.
You can see the result below! Friends' apartments around the world
Regarding the choice of
Brazilian décor , SimpleGhar stated that the inspiration came from the
modernist movement , the "clean" aesthetic and curved lines of the period. The rendering also sought to highlight the Brazilian predilection for
indoor gardens ,
vibrant art and an abundance of
natural light . But it doesn't end there: the portal also imagined what the Friends apartment would look like
in five other international design styles : India, France, Japan, Morocco and Scandinavia.

In
Japan , white would be the most obvious choice for furniture, as it represents purity and brings
a minimalist feel to the décor.
Natural light is also important here, and the living room would have access to a
winter garden . The
mat straw is the right choice for covering the floor.
France
The
Parisian glamour of the early 20th century is revived in this rendering of France. Here,
old and new coexist in harmony and warmer textures, such as velvet or brocade, as well as carpets, are explored in
darker, more sober tones .
Scandinavia
The Scandinavian style –
which has been very popular recently – is characterized by an
inviting and cozy minimalism , where clean lines and functionality are highly valued. Here, the living room would be
predominantly light and very airy , as well as featuring lots of exposed wood and plants. to bring the feeling of being outdoors closer.
Morocco
In her latest international appearance, Monica's apartment in
Morocco would feature jewel tones such as emeralds, blues and purples. The furniture would be carved with
wooden details and the upholstery would be
covered in luxurious fabrics such as silk and velvet.
Rugs, poufs and cushions would add an exotic touch of relaxed opulence.
