The apartment was a long-standing dream of the lawyer couple, who now live in this house with their family. In fact, as Kika Tiengo, the interior designer in charge of the renovation, explains, the three already knew each other from a previous project, which they had worked on working together. “This apartment was already the goal of this young couple of lawyers since the first apartment I designed for them. I was very happy to be part of making this dream come true,” she reveals.

Located in Vila Nova Conceição, São Paulo, the 380 m² apartment is where the young couple always wanted to live. The original plan, from the 1980s, required the designer to find modern solutions for its diagonal walls, which visually polluted the house. and did not make the most of the area.

Thus, she planned that the social areas would be visually
united through carpentry , which in the dining room, for example, fulfills a dual function: it not only hides the chamfered corners of the room, but also serves as a piece of furniture for meals. Another big change was the size of the kitchen, which
was expanded and now occupies part of the service area , which was too large. The
home cinema layout was also redesigned with solutions that allow it to be integrated into the kitchen. "Signs of new habits", reflects the designer.

The result was so successful that the element was also used in the bathroom entrance. In the living room, the highlight is the large
wooden ceiling , whose layout was oriented
based on the path taken by natural light through the rooms . This super versatile element reinforces the axis between the living room windows – which overlook the beautiful
Ibirapuera Park – and the dining room, which allows you to observe the superior view of the neighborhood.

In the social areas, the finishes, wood paneling and marble coverings create a
backdrop for the extensive art and design collection . As for this, the owners had no doubts: the priority was to select the
best that Brazilian designers and artists have to offer . “We highlight modern Brazilian furniture from the 50s and 60s with
Sergio Rodrigues ,
Jorge Zalszupin ,
Giuseppe Scapinelli . Among our contemporary artists, we chose
Jader Almeida ,
Guilherme Wentz ,
Gustavo Bittencourt , and among the artists,
Paulo Pasta ,
Amilcar de Castro ,
Marina Rheingantz ,
Artur Lescher ,
Roberto Burle Marx , among others", adds the designer. Continue viewing the full apartment in the gallery below:
