Located in Ipanema (RJ), this
180 m² apartment is the new home of a young couple with a one-year-old baby. The property previously belonged to the husband's family and as soon as the new residents "got pregnant", architect
Bianca da Hora , from the Da Hora Arquitetura office, was called in to oversee a complete renovation.

“Every detail of the project involved the client’s mother, who has extremely good taste,” says Bianca. “Overall, they asked for a
young apartment, filled with modern Brazilian designer furniture, many of which were found in antique shops, mixed with some pieces from the family’s collection,” says Bianca.

In the social area, Bianca highlights the creations of
Jorge Zalszupin (such as the Pétala coffee table, the Senior dining chairs and the pair of Dinamarquesa armchairs) and
Ricardo Fasanello (such as the Esfera armchair).

According to the architect, even though the property is old, there were no significant changes to the original layout. “We just redid all the plumbing and electrical work,” she points out.
In the decor, Bianca adopted a neutral base, with a strong presence of natural wood (especially ipê, used in the wall covering), as well as upholstery and rugs in off-white tones. (Fotos: Denilson Machado, do MCA Estúdio / Produção visual: Diego Matos/CASACOR)

In the
dining room , Bianca also highlights the vintage pendant light and the
natural ipê woodwork (which functions as a buffet) designed by her, with
a central niche covered in Carrara marble to support the dining table.

In the
office , the show is taken by the bookcase with an olive green lacquer finish and attached work bench, made of natural ipê, mounted on the wall, and the
Fardos sofa, designed by Ricardo Fasanello , upholstered in suede in the same tone as the bookcase.

In the
couple's bedroom , the highlight is the
wooden panel that embraces the bed , but does not go all the way to the ceiling so as not to visually weigh down the space, while in the baby's room, the transparent acrylic crib and the fully personalized wallpaper, with a print concentrated on the lower part, steal the show.
