The architecture firm Estúdio Maré was approached by a young couple to renovate a 153 m² apartment located in the Vila Leopoldina neighborhood of São Paulo. “The clients came to us to renovate this new apartment delivered with the subfloor”, comments Lívia Leite , an architect who runs the office. The aim of the project was not only to enhance the social area of the living room and kitchen - spaces highly valued by the couple - but also to give more focus to the landscaping and bring an industrial touch to the décor .

The starting point for the renovation was to expand the total area of the kitchen , which previously shared space with a home office located between the living room and kitchen. “We expanded the space by demolishing the masonry of the home office and bringing the living room closer to the kitchen. kitchen so that the finishes chosen for the two environments complement each other”, explains the professional.
