An apartment with a
modern and
industrial feel, but still
cozy . This is the project by architect
Ana Cano – from the
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro team – for a couple who dreamed of moving to a larger apartment. And it took a lot of searching alongside the architect until they found this precious property in the Icaraí neighborhood, in Niterói (RJ). To the delight of beach and sports lovers, the
200 m² was just two blocks from the sea and one block from the São Bento field.

When the demolition began, the architect's focus was to find the best ceiling height – since, previously, the living room had three levels. To give the space more breathing room, she sought to bring in more amplitude and light. “In the project,
the walls of the living room, kitchen, utility room and first bedroom (which became a home) were knocked down . Call the planner to ensure the architect's madness! Everything is fine. I'm going to continue with my project!” says Ana enthusiastically.

Coming from a smaller property, the clients wanted a place where they could entertain friends, throw parties and that would be cozy for family time.
The home got a black aluminum frame partition with ribbed glass, and a very industrial piece of furniture with a wooden top, clay bricks on the wall, a denim sofa and a straw and leather pouf. (Gustavo Bresciani/CASACOR)
The living room, home and kitchen are fully integrated, spacious and bright. With walls covered in
Metro White ceramic tiles , the kitchen has
blue lacquered doors that alternate with others in
fluted glass and black trim. A central island with a cooktop and pink stools also supports the dining table with a marble top and light wood chairs upholstered in leather.

Blue sets the tone for the master suite, with
floral wallpaper and a ton-sur-ton upholstered headboard . To complete the fresh atmosphere, bedside tables and straw wall lights complete the freshness. And the same color palette continues in the master bathroom, with blue lacquered cabinet doors and original tiled flooring.

With a very modern feel, the
son's room has skateboards on the wall , a yellow bedside table that resembles a shipping container, a burnt cement wall, a study bench and a single bed upholstered in gray canvas. "It's 14 m² well distributed and has a great gray lacquered closet measuring 3 linear meters," says Ana.

“Since I met the clients, I saw the potential to create that dream project. Their taste had a lot in common with my interior design,” concludes Ana.
