Combining the
security of an apartment with the
comfort of a home seems like an impossible dream, doesn't it? But this is becoming increasingly popular with
garden apartments: a type of
apartment with a homely feel , located on the ground or first floor, which has become a favorite among those looking for a leisure space to call their own. "This housing concept is very reminiscent of a house, which makes it
more welcoming , even for receiving guests," says architect Carina Dal Fabbro, head of the office that bears her name. She is the designer of this 180 m²
garden apartment located on the Riviera of São Lourenço, on the coast of São Paulo.
A coastal retreat for a family looking for a place to spend the weekends, the apartment has been completely revamped. The outdoor space has a
living area with a wooden
deck , sun loungers and a swimming pool. There is also a
garden. vertical that delimits the unit area, barbecue and support for surfboards and bicycles.
To achieve the
beachy atmosphere that the residents were looking for, the architect invested in furniture made from
natural materials , such as wood and straw. The
relaxed and fluid style of the spaces, in addition to being very much in keeping with the beach climate, is also a great addition to the decor. aesthetics and one of the main characteristics of garden apartments.
To be in harmony with the
mood of relaxation, the choices for the living room, which is fully integrated with the social area, were guided by the
desire for a comfortable environment for residents to relax in front of the TV after a day at the beach. Therefore, The project was based on
assertive choices of furniture and textures , and sprinkled various
shades of blue throughout the décor. "The color appears in the paintings, objects, upholstery and the living room rack to reinforce the nautical atmosphere and passion for the ocean."
"For the master bedroom, we followed the same premise we adopted throughout the apartment:
simple solutions, but with expressive touches of personality ," explains the architect. With its
light-colored paint and
privileged view of the garden , the bedroom exudes a relaxing atmosphere and it became even more cozy when the paneling was installed as a headboard.
