Located in Tabatinga, in the interior of São Paulo, this
180 m² apartment was designed for a young couple from São Paulo who spent the pandemic period at the beach.
The couple liked the place so much that they decided to renovate it so they could spend more time there – they both work from home and have a hybrid schedule, so they wouldn't need to be in São Paulo all the time.
The project, led by architect
Sabrina Salles , underwent a complete renovation – starting with the alteration of the staircase and the opening of spaces, prioritizing the
integration of the spaces to enhance the view . The main request of the clients, the opening of the social area to the sea view, was the starting point of the renovation and served as inspiration for the entire décor.
Despite the influence, the couple requested a decor that did not follow a beach theme, but instead featured lots of
natural elements – such as burnt cement – and bright colors. So, for the social area, the architect used a
deep shade of blue on the wall where the staircase leading to the upper floor is located. The kitchen also received
custom-made furniture in the same shade , which contrasts with the light tones of the countertop, floor and wall behind the sink.
Crafted from rope, the dining chairs not only added
another touch of color to the décor – a summery coral – but are also great allies for beach houses, thanks to their durability, which doesn't deteriorate in the sea air. A
comfortable sofa and a
bar area complete the integrated area.
The upper floor houses the
master bedroom , a
bathroom and a second bedroom, which serves as a
TV room and guest room . Finally, the project's great idea was to create a
mezzanine on the roof slope, accessed via a
mobile staircase that leads to the third floor, which houses an office that also serves as a games room. Check out more photos of the project in the gallery below!
