The 160 m² property in Barra da Tijuca was purchased by a retired lawyer to be used occasionally for short periods in Rio de Janeiro. However, when her daughter, who had recently graduated in law, began studying in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, the
Bezamat Arquitetura office was called upon to make spaces more beautiful, comfortable and functional, as well as creating a contemporary décor.

"The client wanted a welcoming home, where she could better receive her family, and where her daughter would be comfortable in her absence," says architect Cristina Bezamat. Originally, the three-bedroom property had two bathrooms, one in the guest bathroom and the other in the master suite. With the layout changes for the new project, a third bathroom was added to the plan to create a second suite, as well as a walk-in closet for the owner. .

The decor follows a contemporary, cozy and chic style, with a predominance of neutral tones in the social area, touches of blue and a pink blanket. “We took advantage of the collection of hand-painted plates by the client’s mother on the dining room wall and the lampshade with a silver base on the sofa side table”, says the architect.

On the balcony, the Deck sofa, designed by Bernardo Figueiredo, and the Tajá armchair, designed by Sergio Rodrigues, steal the show.
In the living room, the woodwork shelf with straw was designed by the office to house all the table accessories from the client's collection. “She loves to decorate the table for every occasion,” says Cristina.

In the client's bedroom, the soft-toned linens, along with the headboard upholstered in gray fabric and the side tables, create a colorful and
cozy feel. A wooden shelf at the top serves as a support for pictures and objects.
