“In the dining room, the wood paneling in a light wood tone contrasts with the ebonized furniture. In the living room, the white brickwork gives a more casual feel, combined with the track lighting. On the balcony, the texture of Burnt cement covers the floor, walls and ceiling, forming a box. The black metalwork and natural fiber furniture complement the look,” he explains.

The guest suite's closet was integrated into the room and the bathroom was also resized, increasing the countertop and shower area. On the balcony, which was already open to the living room, a countertop/bar unit was created.

In the dining room and kitchen, the carpentry is the element that divides the functions within the integrated social area, in addition to meeting storage demands. The carpentry panel fulfills several functions: in addition to dividing the dining room, it provides support for a suspended sideboard, camouflages the access door to the bathroom and a wardrobe/closet.

In the kitchen, a more neutral look was chosen, with white marble countertops, oak cabinets and panels, in the same shade as the dining room panel, with a door opening system without handles.

“The original plan had many isolated compartments and unused spaces, such as the bedroom and service bathroom. Given the demands brought by the client, these spaces were eliminated and we created a new plan, creating an open plan of 72 m² that encompasses the entire social area of the property, with spaciousness, natural lighting, ventilation and views of Sugarloaf Mountain and Aterro do Flamengo”, describes the architect.

“The fluted glass partition that separates the laundry room, without completely isolating the room, allows light to enter and makes the space part of the house, without hiding it,” concludes the architect.
