Large windows enhance the view of the Lagoon in a project by Rodrigo Barbosa

The windows that go from floor to ceiling are the highlight of this renovation project by architect Rodrigo Barbosa (a CASACOR Rio professional): in addition to enhancing the privileged view of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas , the frames fluidly integrate nature and spaces internal. "We wanted the view to be the protagonist", explains Rodrigo. "Each choice was designed to ensure that external beauty became an integral part of the internal experience", he adds. In the living room , a wooden panel on the television wall adds a touch of sophistication, while the slatted wooden bench around the sofa brings a design element that is both functional and welcoming. The sandy palette and wood paneling create a neutral base, allowing furniture and decorative elements to stand out. Light boxes embedded in the plaster ceiling create lighting that enhances the aesthetics of the space.

A mirror strategically positioned on the wall expands the space , reflecting the Lagoon. An oval rocking chair was strategically placed to create a corner for relaxation. In the integrated kitchen , gray countertops and oak joinery, along with black details, complement the design. “The idea was to create an environment that not only met practical needs, but also integrated perfectly with the rest of the property”, explains Rodrigo. The high chairs on the bench provide a living experience that flows and intertwines with the social spaces, ensuring a cohesive and inviting environment. “We sought to create a project that is both timeless and affective and enhances the resident’s objects, whether inherited or acquired on trips”, concludes the architect.
