When it came to designing her own home, architect
Helô Marques already had everything she wanted in mind: a bright home, with integrated and happy environments, as well as a playful and accessible playroom for children. And the answer to all this came in the form of a 220 m² apartment, in Jardim Paulista, in São Paulo.
"When we entered the property and saw the large window, which immediately referred to modernism, there was an incredible feeling of freedom" , explains the professional.
The opening that surrounds the corner and the entire room not only produces enormous light, but also frames the São Paulo skyline, which becomes even more beautiful at night.
In the decoration, Helô started with a neutral and clean concept as a base, creating a backdrop for objects and works of art that told the family's story and could also be modified over time.
The paintings, for example, represent important professional moments and travels of the architect - including the painting of the horse in the hall belonged to her grandfather.
Between the living room and the entrance, a structural column that could not be removed received a concrete covering and now houses a reclaimed wood bench on its two sides.
The shelf that runs around the top of the room has a triple function: it complements the lighting, functions as a curtain and houses gifts and travel souvenirs.
The two rugs, despite having different prints, gain unity with similar colors . The tones even dictated the palette of the rest of the furniture, such as the navy blue and white sofas and the coffee table with a stone top.
