CASA COR are constantly seeking out new, modern and technological innovations, without losing sight of aesthetics. That is why some of them, at
CASA COR Paraná 2016, opted for a technology that improves lighting and offers a thousand possibilities for use: fiber optics. To summarize and explain succinctly, optical fiber is a flexible filament that contains a single lamp or LED at the source that branches and conducts the light to the end that will be illuminated. This is the concept and definition. With this versatility, the fiber provides various lighting effects and possible uses, and can be directed, indirect, diffuse and uniform, used on vertical, horizontal and inclined surfaces. This gives professionals greater freedom and creativity in their projects. “The material can be used in aquatic lighting; starry effects, with applications of dots on ceilings, panels; crystals with terminals, in which, depending on the type of cut of the crystal, different effects are formed on the surfaces; marking of stairs, pathways, decks; landscape lighting; accent lighting, such as in museums to highlight works; and lighting fixtures, in which fiber optic chandeliers are created”, explains Vanessa Giacometti, interior designer, lighting designer and owner of SPOT Lighting Iluminação.
SPOT Lighting Iluminação is the company that brings this technology to two areas of the Paraná exhibition. One of them is the
Link Lounge , designed by Clarice Volpi and Simone Volpi Zoller. The space has fiber optics throughout, redesigning the place with lighting. Using the Sidelight line, the professionals created rays on the ceiling over the panel, giving the impression of infrared. The chandelier also has fiber optics with crystals.
In addition to its possible uses, the technology stands out for its energy efficiency - since the electrical consumption to produce a good amount of lumens is quite low - and also for its easy maintenance, which normally comes down to changing just one bulb.
