The theme 'Mind and Heart' led professionals to look inward at CASACOR São Paulo 2026. Many of them turned to affective memories to create projects full of meaning, emotion, and belonging. One common point is that several of them revisited memories of the farm to express what is most special in their family journeys.

Felipe de Almeida, Nildo José, and Felipe Carolo make up the exhibition circuit with projects that are completely different from one another. However, the architects manage to convey the welcoming atmosphere of the countryside through the references they have built throughout their lives. Below, CASACOR talks with the cast members to learn about their inspirations!

Casa Memórias Essenciais, by Felipe de Almeida

Felipe de Almeida turned to the reality of the farm to present a 115 sqm loft with a barn-like feel at CASACOR São Paulo 2026. The large windows, the dark woodwork, the furniture with visible marks, and the floral wallpapers evoke country life without giving up a contemporary touch. In addition, the fireplace at the center of the living room contributes to the typical countryside atmosphere.

According to the interior designer, the inspiration comes from family moments in the countryside. "My family has always had a country house. Since I was little, I went to that house, and to this day I still go and take my children. My relationship with the farm is present, alive, and every weekend (or almost every one!) I go there", he says.

Not only at CASACOR, but in all of his work, Almeida has memory as one of the central pillars. "A home should represent who you are. And you are precisely the memory you carry, which needs to be expressed in some way. There, I was represented elegantly with my Ancestors' Bookshelf, which gathers objects, photos, and notes".

Casa Coral Celeiro Alvorada, by Nildo José Arquitetos

The living room by Nildo José at CASACOR São Paulo 2026 pays a tribute to the memory of his father through countryside references. "My relationship with the farm has always been very strong. It is a place where I spent much of my childhood. This space greatly represents my origins and is connected to my father's story. It was his choice to work with this. Today, when I see this universe, I connect deeply with him".

In 213 sqm, the architect gathered several elements present in country houses, but in less literal ways. The project is marked by rustic textures and materials, with the presence of brick flooring, granus on the walls, and wooden pillars. One of the items that stands out most in the project is the travertine countertop with sculpted rural figures (cover).

All of Nildo José's choices contribute to an atmosphere of "rustic, yet extremely sophisticated farm". Regarding the immense bookshelf, he adds: "This is an analog space, where time passes more slowly. Farms bring an inviting, welcoming atmosphere that fosters encounters between people."

Felipe Carolo found discreet ways to represent memories of the farm in his 77 m² loft at CASACOR. The architect dedicated the project to the 100 years of life of his grandfather, Jacob. The honoree was born on the farm, therefore, among the many elements that allude to his home, many evoke life in the countryside.

"My relationship with the farm goes way back. I was born in São Paulo, but I lived a long time in Ribeirão Preto, in the countryside. My relatives always had a farm; we used to visit my uncle's farm often," Carolo recalls.

As for his grandfather's memories, he gathers inherited furniture and vintage pieces acquired from galleries. "The family furniture passed down from hand to hand are the greatest elements of the space that translate the memories of the farm. In addition to them, the textures and materiality are also present. The high ceilings of old farms are also reproduced through these elements in my space."
