One of the memorable environments that was present at CASACOR Peru 2024 was the children's room " Donde Habitan los Sueños... " (in Portuguese "Where dreams live..."), designed by architects Cinthya Arana and Nube Alfaro . With its colors, textures and volumes, the decoration transported visitors to a playful experience rich in cultural meanings , combining education and entertainment. (Marcel Suurmond/CASACOR)
The story behind the environment revolves around Helena and Julio, two children from the future, from the year 2100, who embark on a magical adventure, discovering fascinating creatures from the Andean cosmovision . This concept is presented in a vibrant and inspiring way, allowing visitors, especially children, to explore themes such as Peru's cultural legacy through colorful murals depicting iconic figures such as Inti (the Sun God), Apu (mountain spirits) , Amaru (a creature that unites heaven and earth) and Ukuku (a half-bear, half-human figure). Divided into three main areas — the studio (research space), the psychomotricity zone and the reading and rest area — the project was carefully designed to encourage children's learning , being differentiated by different colors and illustrations. In order to create a connection with the Andean jungle , the architects chose verdant tones to compose the bathroom and the studio, which also gained a "stand" of plants, creating an immersive and sensorial atmosphere that reflects the country's natural riches . Through a charming aesthetic full of culture and history, "Donde Habitan los Sueños" is truly a unique place where little ones and their families can learn and connect with Peru's rich heritage , in an environment that, at the same time, , venerates the past, celebrates the present and looks to the future.
