In 2017, the 22nd Deca Studies Competition awarded Jeferson Branco, 24, with the design of a train/subway station bathroom. This participation and victory resulted, as a prize, in the design of one of the spaces of
CASACOR Itapema 2018 , the
Habitat Deca .
In designing the space, Jeferson based his work on the theme of the exhibition,
A Casa Viva , to explore what is most beautiful in life: diversity, through a gender-free project. “To visualize all the advantages of this proposal, we have to go beyond the inclusion of minorities, such as transgender people and people with disabilities,
for example, caring for a mother with her young child who cannot go to the bathroom alone or an elderly person who needs help and is accompanied by a person of other sex ", explains the professional.
In the structuring and use of coverings, the architect uses raw materials, which refer to nature, to recreate a
habitat , where this diversity of everyday life occurs freely, inspired by nature and making it clear that before it, we are all equal.
The concern with enhancing the pieces and their designs is paramount. The floor-standing basin, next to the water element, became a fountain; the urinal, next to the vegetation, became a beautiful vase. Jeferson Branco's project is technically responsible for the professional Fernanda Consonni.
