Stools and benches are support pieces that often elude furniture’s rigid classifications. They don’t belong only to the living room, the kitchen, or the bedroom — they circulate among functions, adapt to routines, and reveal unexpected solutions within the project.
Rodrigo Ferreira e Isabela Toneli - CASA SMART. A modularidade permite expansão e personalização, enquanto a arte valoriza memórias e expressões pessoais. (Edgard Cesar/CASACOR)
When integrated into the decor, the layout of the space gains flexibility. These are elements that occupy little volume but offer multiple possibilities of use, contributing to compositions that are more dynamic, functional, and visually balanced.
In the living room, the stool can replace traditional side tables with lightness. It holds books, lamps or a tray with objects, without blocking circulation or visually weighing down the project.

This solution gains even more value in compact spaces. When necessary, the support becomes extra seating for guests, showing how to expand functionality without compromising the layout’s flow.
In the bedroom, benches positioned at the foot of the bed help visually organize the composition. They create a smooth transition between the resting area and the rest of the project.
Waleska Oliveira - Dormitório do Governador. (Xico Diniz/CASACOR)
Upholstered models add texture and comfort, while wood or cane versions bring naturalness. The choice of material directly influences the atmosphere, reinforcing a more sophisticated or more casual aesthetic.
In smaller bedrooms, stools and benches delicately replace nightstands. The structural lightness favors circulation and avoids excessive volume beside the bed.

This approach works especially well in projects with a minimalist language. By keeping only the essentials — a lamp, a book, a personal object — the space gains breathing room and visual balance.
Barstools take center stage in kitchens with an island or counter. They bring together prep and togetherness, bringing those who cook closer to those who share the moment.

Proper height and comfort are essential in this choice. Models with a discreet backrest or a slightly upholstered seat balance ergonomics and aesthetics, without compromising the set’s lightness.
The hall is the first contact with the home. Placing a stool in this area creates a subtle pause — to set down bags, put on shoes or simply compose the scene.

Striking design pieces can take on an almost sculptural role. Even in small areas, they structure the entrance with functionality and visual presence.
Stools and benches also work as bases for vases and sculptures. By elevating plants at different heights, they create visual layers that enrich the composition.

This play of levels adds depth and movement to the project. It’s a simple, yet effective, resource for transforming balconies and living rooms into livelier, more dynamic spaces.
Some stools transcend practical function and become protagonists. Handcrafted, signature, or expressively designed pieces act as focal points in the decor.
OHMA - Escalada Brasileira. (Camila Santos/CASACOR)
In these cases, less is more. By placing the piece of furniture in a strategic area, its form and materiality come to the fore, showing how small volumes can carry great aesthetic impact.
