Creating projects that convey balance, well-being, and welcoming is a common desire when decorating a home. Among the various approaches to achieve this result, the philosophy of Feng Shui stands out for offering a detailed perspective on how the arrangement of furniture, colors, and decorative elements can influence the energy of projects. However, when trying to apply the principles of Feng Shui without proper knowledge, it is common to make mistakes that can hinder the flow of energy instead of improving it. From excessive objects to the incorrect positioning of the bed or the unbalanced use of colors, some seemingly harmless choices can affect the well-being of the residents. In the lines below, we list the most frequent mistakes according to Feng Shui and how to correct them to transform the home into a more harmonious and pleasant space.

1. Excessive objects and accumulated clutter

Keeping the house filled with unnecessary items or having accumulated clutter is one of the main mistakes from the Feng Shui perspective. According to the philosophy, disorder prevents the free flow of energy (the so-called Chi) and can generate emotional blockages.

How to correct:

Organizing spaces, eliminating unused objects, and adopting storage solutions are simple actions that contribute to restoring the harmony of the project.

2. Mirrors positioned improperly

Feng Shui recommends caution when using mirrors, especially when they reflect areas like the bed or the front door. If positioned incorrectly, the mirrors can amplify unwanted energies or create agitation.

How to correct:

Avoid mirrors facing directly towards the bed or doors. Prefer locations where they reflect positive images or create a sense of spaciousness without affecting the energetic balance.

3. Poorly positioned bed in the bedroom

A bed pushed against a door, under a window, or without a solid headboard can undermine the sense of safety and stability.

How to correct:

The ideal position for the bed is with a supporting wall behind, ensuring a clear view of the door without being directly aligned with it. This reinforces protection and improves sleep quality.

4. Projects with little natural light

Dark projects, with always closed windows or insufficient artificial lighting, can stagnate energy according to Feng Shui.

How to correct:

Enhance the entry of natural light and, if necessary, complement with lamps and fixtures that bring coziness and enhance the circulation of energy in the rooms.

5. Poorly cared-for plants or excessive artificial ones

Although plants bring life and positivity to projects, neglecting them or overusing artificial species can have the opposite effect.

How to correct:

Prefer natural plants, such as peace lilies, sword of Saint George, or lucky bamboo, which have special meanings in Feng Shui. If using artificial plants, keep them clean and in good condition.

6. Blocked house entrance

The entry hall or the front door is considered the “mouth of Chi”, where vital energy enters. Obstacles or dirt in this area can hinder the energy renewal of the home.

How to correct:

Keep the entrance always clean, free of objects that block the passage, and with good lighting. A beautiful doormat and plants by the door also help attract good vibrations.

7. Incorrect use of colors

Each color carries a meaning in Feng Shui and can influence the mood and energy of the residents. Very dark tones or vibrant ones in excess can generate discomfort if poorly applied.

How to correct:

Seek to balance colors according to the purpose of each project. In the bedroom, soft tones like blue or beige are welcome. In the living room, shades of green or yellow stimulate socializing.
