Brazilian
music has been one of the richest cultural expressions in the country for decades — a reflection of our
diversity, creativity, and history. It is no surprise that its poetic and aesthetic power transcends the stage, also inspiring the realm of architecture and interior design. In
various editions of CASACOR, the national repertoire served as a starting point for
projects that transformed songs, cultural movements, and artists into sensory, vibrant, and meaningful spaces. João Gabriel - O Canto de Gil. Projeto da CASACOR Bahia 2024. (Gabriela Daltro/CASACOR)
More than just tributes, these
projects translate sound into form, texture, and color. They are interpretations showing how Brazilian music can be integrated into decoration with
sensitivity and depth, connecting the
affective memory of Brazilians to the materiality of spaces. Below is a selection of projects that harmonize architecture and melody, transforming living into a truly synesthetic experience!
Samba de 1⁄4 – CASACOR Goiás 2025
Created by
Genésio Maranhão, the Samba de 1⁄4 project celebrates the
centenary of the Modernist Movement, the Art Deco style, and the 65th anniversary of Bossa Nova. The
projects blend softness, romance, and elegance into a composition that captures the spirit of Brazilian music: welcoming, authentic, and full of rhythm. Furniture with fluid curves, natural materials, and warm lighting reinforce the invitation to rest and contemplation, transforming the bedroom into a
poetic refuge.

Tropicália Bathroom – CASACOR Ribeirão Preto 2025
Signed by a group of students from Senac Ribeirão Preto (Rodrigues André Dourado do Bereta, Ayra Rodrigues, Lucas Moreira da Silva Higino, Lucas Henrique da Silva Silveira, Patricia Monteiro, Patricia Sá Soares, and Tayara Avelino da Silva), the Tropicália Bathroom is a
manifesto aesthetic in the form of a washroom. Inspired by the cultural movement of the 1960s, the project bets on
vibrant colors, psychedelic textures, and tropical exuberance to translate the freedom and boldness that marked Tropicália. Maximalist wallpapers, plants, and
colored stripes create a
scene that mixes art and nature, celebrating the diversity of biomes and expressions that make up Brazil.

Cultivate the Look – Gustavo Eyewear Store, CASACOR Pernambuco 2025
Inspired by the
power of aesthetics as a language, the project by
duoPL Architecture reflects the dialogue between art and perception. With
illustrations of great names of MPB wearing the glasses for sale, the
projects also evoke the visual rhythm of Brazilian music through
volumes, diagonals, and geometric tensions. Angled mirrors and unusual cutouts create a composition that challenges the eye and suggests movement — a kind of architectural choreography that unfolds with every step of the visitor. [caption id="attachment_211103" align="alignnone" width="2000"]

The Song of Gil – CASACOR Bahia 2024
A tribute to the trajectory of
Gilberto Gil, the
projects created by
João Gabriel dives into the
African roots of Brazilian music. Inspired by the song "Baba Alapalá", the project combines
elements of spirituality, ancestry, and art. Clay appears as a symbol of origin, while a large image of Gil dressed as an ancestor greets visitors. Snippets of songs and album covers like Refazenda, Refavela, and Realce compose the space, transforming it into a living installation about identity and memory.

Tanqueray Bossa Nova Bar – CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2024
Tiago Freire created a bar that is
a pure celebration of Bossa Nova and the golden years of Rio. Hidden behind a restaurant, the Tanqueray Bossa Nova is a
refuge of Brazilian culture, where national design joins works of art and elements of modern Carioca architecture. Vinyl records from the series "Elza, Aquarelas do Brasil" make direct references to the history of Brazilian music, creating an
elegant, welcoming, and deeply affectionate atmosphere.

Bossa Nossa – CASACOR Itapema 2024
In the project by
Rafaela Pereira from Studio Cast Interiores, Bossa Nova is interpreted as a way of living. Bossa Nossa joins elegance and naturalness in a
project that celebrates the best of Brazilian culture: from lush flora to authorial design. The use of light wood, natural fibers, and earthy tones forms a smooth and sophisticated harmony, evoking the
gentle sway of the melodies that marked MPB. It is a true ode to modern Brazilian identity — a soundscape translated into architecture!

Home of Samba – CASACOR São Paulo 2023
With an affectionate gaze on his origins,
Marcelo Salum created the Home of Samba to
celebrate the colors and sounds of Brazil. The project combines
references to African culture and carnival. Intense colors, festive textures, and a painting by Luiz Pasqualini depicting a samba circle translate the joy and energy of the rhythm that moves the country.

Chez Odara – CASACOR Santa Catarina 2022
Also by Marcelo Salum, the Chez Odara is inspired by the song "
Odara" by Caetano Veloso. The living room
celebrates the beauty and diversity of Brazilian music, with works by photographer Vania Toledo portraying MPB icons such as Gal Costa, Nara Leão, and Roberto Carlos. With a warm and sophisticated atmosphere, the
projects propose a
pause to listen, feel, and reconnect with what is most genuine in the Brazilian soul.

Convex Bathroom – CASACOR Bahia 2022
Vítor Martins drew inspiration from "
Reconvexo" by Caetano Veloso to create a
projects of memories and sensations. The bathroom combines colors, aromas, and shapes that evoke childhood and the cultural heritage of Recôncavo Baiano. Like the music that inspires it, the space is
introspective, poetic, and filled with symbolism.

Loft "Something happens in my heart" – CASACOR São Paulo 2018
Marcelo Salum, once again, transforms Brazilian music into a
architectural narrative. Inspired by Chico Buarque and Caetano Veloso, the São Paulo loft blends gray and green, alternating urbanity and nature. Snippets of songs embroidered in the fabrics and the prominent presence of plants create a
dialogue between poetry and everyday life, between city and affection.
