The São Paulo City Hall has announced the schedule for the 21st edition of Virada Cultural, set for May 23 and 24. For 24 uninterrupted hours, the city will be filled with an extensive free program that runs through the night from Saturday to Sunday with attractions spread across different regions of the capital.

Although the major concerts are some of the most anticipated highlights of the event, the program also reinforces the presence of activities related to the arts and culture. Museums, libraries, cultural centers, and Sesc units will host exhibitions, artistic interventions, and special performances throughout the weekend.

Below, we list the main highlights for those who love art and design. The complete program of Virada Cultural 2026, including concerts, theater plays, and various workshops, can be checked directly on the city hall website.
Virada Cultural is a great opportunity to visit some of São Paulo's main museums for free. Throughout the weekend, 25 museums in the capital will offer special programming, guided tours, and cultural activities – all at no cost! Participants include: Museu do Ipiranga, Museu Catavento, Museu da Língua Portuguesa, Museu Afro Brasil, and Museu do Futebol.
In turn, the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) will not only offer free admission, but will also remain open for 24 hours. Tickets normally cost R$ 85, and visiting the museum during the late hours, from Saturday to Sunday, is a very rare experience in itself.
Where: Av. Paulista, 1578 - Bela Vista
Instituto Moreira Salles will also have special programming and extended hours during Virada Cultural. Open until midnight, the cultural center will offer visits to the exhibitions "Zumví Arquivo Afro Fotográfico" and "Memória, Trabalho e Dignidade: O Legado de Laudelina", in addition to free film screenings.
Where: Av. Paulista, 2424 - Bela Vista
Instituto Tomie Ohtake will also take part in Virada Cultural, with guided tours of the exhibition "Existe uma vida inteira que tu não conhece", a series of debates titled "Mulheres, casas e narrativas", an amulet-mask workshop, and more. In addition, the show "Ruy Ohtake - percursos do habitar" will also have free admission.
Where: Rua Coropé, 88 - Pinheiros | R. Antônio de Macedo Soares, 1800 - Campo Belo
The São Paulo Jewish Museum will offer a guided tour of the exhibition "Burle Marx - Plantas em movimento" on Saturday (23), at 11 a.m. The exhibition (about which we share details of the visit here!) brings together projects, photographs, and videos by the pioneer of modern landscape design. It is also possible to take part in other self-guided or guided tours of the museum.
Where: Rua Martinho Prado, 128 - Bela Vista
Art lovers can also participate in educational tours of the exhibition "Pinacoteca: Acervo", at Pinacoteca. They take place at two times on Saturday, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. No prior registration is required to participate.
Where: Praça da Luz, 2 - Luz
The Educational Action Center promotes a nighttime visit through the former residence of the Ramos de Azevedo family, Casa das Rosas, exploring the social and architectural uses of the projects. The tour addresses the division between social, intimate, and service areas, as well as the gender, class, and hierarchy relations present in the organization of the house. It will be held on Saturday at 9 p.m.
Where: Av. Paulista, 37 – Bela Vista
Finally, those interested in the world of photography have a full program to enjoy during Virada Cultural. Among them are the "Linha do Tempo da Fotografia", at MIS (Museum of Image and Sound), the "Roda de bordado em fotografia", at the Municipal Historical Archive, and the "Festival de Fotografia de São Paulo: 12ª Feira da Fotografia", at Unibes Cultural.
