The month of April presents a wide cultural agenda in São Paulo, with exhibitions, performances, and events that occupy different parts of the city. The program brings together everything from major art fairs to immersive experiences and theatrical productions inspired by remarkable trajectories.
Between contemporary art, design, music and gastronomy, the month proposes routes that cross museums, theaters, and iconic spaces. Below, a curated selection of key highlights to follow throughout April!
The 22nd edition of SP-Arte 2026 occupies the Bienal Pavilion, bringing together national and international galleries in a program focused on contemporary art and design. Among the highlights, the Design NOW sector expands the view toward current productions, while the exhibition “There Is a Tree” proposes reflections on raw material, territory, and signature woodworking.

The Tomie Ohtake house-studio opens its doors to the public with an exhibition dedicated to the work of Ruy Ohtake. The exhibition presents residential projects that highlight the architect’s view on dwelling, connecting architecture, memory and everyday life.

Set in the Edifício Itália, the exhibition marks the opening of LAB MR, a space conceived by Melina Romano and focused on the intersection between art, architecture, and design. Curated by Ana Carolina Ralston, the show brings together works that reflect on body, territory and contemporary practices related to Indigenous community feminist movements of Abya Yala.

The 14th edition of Comida di Buteco brings together bars from the capital and the metropolitan area in a program dedicated to roots cuisine. With the theme “greens,” participants create snacks from simple ingredients, exploring combinations and techniques that value tradition. During the period, the public can visit the establishments, try the dishes — sold at a fixed price of R$40 — and take part in the vote that will elect the best boteco in the city.
