"The Devil Wears Prada 2" premiered in theaters 20 years after the success of its first installment, bringing a new story, new looks, and new settings. This time, the film portrays the reunion of Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) and Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) facing the challenges of journalism in the era of social media.

While "The Devil Wears Prada" has some of its most iconic scenes filmed in Paris, the sequel takes its protagonists on a trip to Milan – featuring memorable moments through the streets and tourist spots of the city. In addition, some familiar New York addresses, where the Runway magazine office is located, return to the screens. Discover the main locations below!

American Museum of Natural History

Founded in 1869, the American Museum of Natural History is the largest of its kind in the world. The space hosts one of the first scenes of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" during a Runway gala event in New York, inspired by the MET Gala. It was where Miranda Priestly received the news that turned her relationship with sponsors upside down.

Beyond the iconic staircase that appears in the film, the museum is renowned for its vast collection of fossils – including dinosaur skeletons! One of its main attractions is a T-Rex approximately 15 meters tall that welcomes visitors at the entrance.

House of Dior

The new Dior store that Andy has to write an article about alongside Emily (Emily Blunt) is real, and it is the main unit of the brand in New York – bearing the name House of Dior. Inaugurated in August 2025, the flagship is located at 23 East 57th Street, on the corner of Madison Avenue.

The address has simply four floors, distributed between women's fashion and men's fashion, including prêt-à-porter, jewelry, Dior Maison, and a spa exclusive to the brand's clients. In real life, the architect Peter Marino was responsible for the project.

Hotel Palazzo Parigi

Leaving New York and going straight to Milan, the Runway team stays at the luxurious Hotel Palazzo Parigi during their visit to the city (despite the recent financial setbacks faced by the company!). The accommodation is located downtown, a 5-minute walk from Piazza Cavour and 15 minutes from Piazza del Duomo.

One caveat regarding "The Devil Wears Prada 2" is that both the rooms and the staircases shown in the scenes are actually in a private residence in Long Island, in the United States. Only the social areas of the real hotel hosted the filming.

Villa Balbiano

The setting for Benji's (Justin Theroux) billionaire mansion in Milan is Villa Balbiano. Built in the 16th century, the property is located on the shores of Lake Como and impresses with its surrounding landscape and the elegance of the construction, which has six suites and several annexes.

Currently, the location hosts temporary stays, weddings, and private luxury events – besides having appeared in another fashion-related film, "House of Gucci." What changes is that for "The Devil Wears Prada 2" a new lawn and more ornamental sculptures in the gardens were added.

Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano

The Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano(in English, Museum of the Last Supper), as the name itself suggests, is a space dedicated to the work of Leonardo da Vinci. It is located in the refectory of the Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, partially open to the public.

It turns out that, despite key moments of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" taking place at the site, only the courtyard scenes were actually filmed there. As for the appearance of the painting, it is a replica set up in a studio that mimics the convent. This is because the original location has lighting restrictions to preserve it.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

Considered one of the oldest shopping malls in the world, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is where Miranda walks after a frustration with her professional future. Around her, designer stores appear that dialogue with the film's theme, including Prada itself.

The shopping center was inaugurated in 1877 by architect Giuseppe Mengoni in honor of the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. The construction was installed in a four-story double arcade in the center of the city, with a central octagonal space beneath a majestic glass dome.

Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera

Finally, the grand fashion show produced by Runway, featuring none other than Lady Gaga, is held at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (in English, Brera Academy of Fine Arts). This is a public academy, administered by the state in Milan, which shares the building with the city's main public art museum, the Pinacoteca di Brera.

Initially, the climax of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" was going to take place in front of the Duomo di Milano. However, the production chose Brera due to the privacy offered by the location. A specialized team set up the runway for the show, as well as the entire event structure, in just five days.
