Enthusiasts of architecture , theater, gastronomy , music or sports can start planning: August's cultural agenda is full of news! The month presents an intense calendar of programs that cover different areas of culture , with emphasis on the beginning of the third edition of the ABERTO exhibition, the Olympic Festival event and the opening of another date for Fernanda Montenegro 's presentation. Since 2022, the ABERTO initiative has presented traveling exhibitions in places never before released to the public. In recent editions, the only residential project signed by Oscar Niemeyer in São Paulo and a family residence designed by Vilanova Artigas in Alto da Boa Vista were revealed to the public. This year, the exhibition presents, for the first time, two spaces simultaneously: Tomie Ohtake 's house-studio , designed by her son Ruy Ohtake in the Campo Belo neighborhood, and Chu Ming Silveira 's residence, located in the Real Parque neighborhood. Curated by Claudia Moreira Salles, Kiki Mazzucchelli and Filipe Assis, ABERTO also included works of art and design that relate to the projects of both spaces. The exhibitions take place from August 11th to September 15th, from Wednesday to Sunday and tickets can be purchased at this link .

Parque Time Brasil Olympic Festival


If you're enjoying following the Paris Olympics , until August 11th you can watch the live broadcast of the competitions at the Parque Time Brasil Olympic Festival , which takes place at Villa-Lobos Park . The festival also features events with athletes, typical cuisine from different countries and artist shows next weekend, the festival will welcome Jota Quest and Alexandre Pires. Entry to the space is free from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, the ticket price starts at R$40 for the entire category. In both cases, you must secure tickets through the platform. Fernanda Montenegro celebrates 80 years with a free performance at the Ibirapuera Auditorium


The success of "Fernanda Montenegro ler Simone de Beauvoir" at Sesc 14 Bis in July led the great actress to open an extra date for the presentation. This time, the show will take place at Parque Ibirapuera , on August 18th, at 7pm.

Artacho Jurado occupation at Itaú Cultural


Ocupação Artacho Jurado is the exhibition that fans of city architecture cannot miss. Throughout the month of August until September 15, the exhibition displays, on the second floor of Itaú Cultural, around 130 pieces that present the life and work of Artacho Jurado , author of several iconic and historic buildings in São Paulo. Between the 1940s and 1960s, Artacho Jurado helped design the urban landscape of the capital of São Paulo with projects that highlighted decorative elements, vibrant colors and living spaces. One of the highlights of the exhibition is the presence of a large commissioned model, which shows Jurado's most important buildings and explains how they were inserted into the topography of São Paulo and Santos. In addition, the exhibition presents the geolocated chronology of the architect's projects, items from his personal collection, images, original drawings and advertisements from the time.

Sancho Bar y Tapas invites chefs to monthly events


The Spanish restaurant - bar located on the trendy Rua Augusta offers the public a true immersion in typical Spanish cuisine , with traditional dishes and authorial reinterpretations. In addition to bringing new recipes to the executive menu every fortnight, the Sancho Bar and Tapas announces another new feature: monthly events with special chefs . Every last Monday of the month, the house will welcome a different chef to cook together. The first edition takes place on August 26th and the guest is renowned chef Rodrigo Ribeiro, from Ara Restaurante.
