The term "wine bar" has ceased to be just an international reference and has come to define a consolidated scene in São Paulo. Among natural labels, authentic menus, and thoughtfully designed spaces, the city brings together places that transform the act of drinking wine into an urban experience.

More than just choosing a bottle, visiting a wine bar involves atmosphere, lighting, and curation. In neighborhoods like Pinheiros, Jardins, and Centro, different proposals interact with the cultural diversity of São Paulo—from intimate counters to houses with elaborate kitchens. Below, we list 7 options worth exploring!

1. Bardega

Bardega presents itself as an interesting place for those who want to explore different types of wine independently. The system works through automated machines that allow customers to choose and serve their own glass, with doses of 30, 60, or 120 ml.

There are 96 labels available, from classic wines of France and Italy to less common examples from countries like Peru, Morocco, Romania, and Bulgaria. During the experience, sommeliers assist guests with guidance and suggestions, while the menu offers elaborately crafted dishes.

2. Vino!

Originating in Curitiba, the network has expanded its presence in São Paulo, with locations varying in size and wine menu extent. In each of them, the bottles are displayed on shelves, allowing customers to explore labels, in addition to requesting options by the glass.

The menu suggests specific pairings, indicating which wine styles best accompany each dish. The house also promotes occasional experiences, such as dinners with curated label selections and events dedicated to sparkling wines.

3. Beverino

Small and cozy, Beverino builds its identity around a curation dedicated to natural wines, biodynamic, and minimal intervention. The selection, with about 250 labels chosen by sommelier Bruno Bertoli, reveals artisanal producers and vintages that value more handcrafted processes.

In the intimate space in Vila Buarque, the wine by the glass options change frequently, encouraging continuous discovery. The kitchen follows the same rhythm: seasonal and based on organic ingredients, it proposes dishes that enter and exit the menu according to ingredient availability.

4. Le Bon Vin

The address in Consolação is divided into three complementary fronts. At the entrance, there is a store dedicated to selling bottles. Next to it, the hall serves a dual purpose: during lunch, it operates as a bistro; at night, it transforms into a wine bar, with a seasonal selection of wines served by the glass — renewed biweekly — accompanied by small portions designed to pair. In the basement, a climate-controlled cellar holds the inventory and features a table for up to eight people, ideal for more private tastings.

The curation is helmed by the owner, civil engineer and wine enthusiast Luiz Valdesoiro, who prioritizes labels from small producers from Rio Grande do Sul committed to sustainable practices.

5. Vinho no Boteco

For those seeking a light and inviting projects, Vinho no Boteco, located in one of the busiest areas of Pinheiros, is a great choice. The house offers around 80 selected wines, including whites, rosés, sparkling wines, champagnes, and cavas, along with less conventional options for those who like to explore new styles.

Daily, seven labels are offered by the glass, encouraging varied tasting. In the kitchen, chef Marciele Médice designs a menu meant to dialogue with the wine list, with preparations that complement and enhance each sip.

6. Clos

Opened in 2020 by Elisa Fernandes, MasterChef winner in 2014, and Guilherme Mendes from the VinhoMix importer, Clos occupies a charming property from the 1930s in Vila Madalena and combines bistro and wine bar in a laid-back atmosphere.

The menu features around 140 organic, biodynamic, and natural labels, served by the glass or bottle — including reds, whites, rosés, orange, and pet-nats. In the kitchen, Elisa presents a concise menu, with ingredients from small producers and dishes that traverse between French classics and creations with Brazilian identity.

7. Paloma

On the ground floor of the Edifício Copan, Paloma occupies a laid-back space where the bottles are displayed on a shelf in the center of the hall. The menu changes monthly and favors about 40 labels, mostly young wines. There, the drink is served in glass cups, reinforcing the informal proposal of the house.

The wine bar also offers executive lunch from Monday to Friday. On the menu, there are suggestions like sardine escabeche with white bean hummus and pickled red onion, as well as fried manjubinha, cheeses, cold cuts, and milanesa — preparations designed to share. A relaxed experience, inviting you to enjoy wine without ceremony!
