Restaurant Week in SP: tips for enjoying the festival!

Food tour enthusiasts can now prepare their next schedule: Brazil Restaurant Week has arrived in São Paulo ! Until May 19, more than 160 restaurants in the city of São Paulo and the surrounding area are taking part in the festival, offering complete tasting menus with dishes from various types of cuisine. Bringing together Brazilian, Italian, Japanese, contemporary, Argentine, Mediterranean, French and Asian cuisine, the festival opens this year with the theme “Vegetarian Revolution” . According to the event’s organizers, the goal was to encourage participating restaurants to include vegetarian dishes on their menus and to raise debate about the impact of current eating habits around the world.
The festival offers full menus — starter, main course and dessert — and offers four menu categories for lunch and dinner : Traditional ( R$54.90 for lunch and R$69.90 for dinner), Plus ( R$68.90 for lunch and R$89.90 for dinner), Premium ( R$89.00 for lunch and R$109.00 for dinner) and Diamond ( R$109.00 for lunch and R$149.00 for dinner).

If you're interested in trying a sophisticated menu that combines different nationalities and regions during this edition of Restaurant Week in SP, Varanda D.Inner , located in Jardim Europa , is the ideal place. The restaurant is one of the festival's participants that has opted for a premium menu, with bold and signature dishes by chef Fábio Lazzarini .

With the options of squid cappuccino and steak tartar & bone marrow as starters; for the main course, the fish of the day , accompanied by banana farofa, caramelized pecan nuts and capixaba moqueca sauce or the chef's selection cut with oxtail broth rice; and finally, to sweeten things up, the menu offers Romeu e Julieta for dessert , a guava paste with cheese ice cream, or the classic Crème Brulée .

The menu is in the Plus category and prioritizes natural products in its composition , originating from from local producers . Mushroom stroganoff, crispy salmon, creamy polenta with mushrooms and the classic salad with orange segment and goat cheese are the highlights of SPRW's more tropical menu.
To get together with friends for happy hour , a good option is Macaxeira : the restaurant has branches in Itaim Bibi , Moema , Morumbi , Perdizes , Pinheiros and Vila Mariana.

Macaxeira offers a very diverse traditional menu of Northeastern cuisine . The menu exudes Brazilianness and has options for all tastes: tapioca cubes, coalho cheese with sugarcane molasses, shredded dried beef with baião de dois, fried fish, grilled chicken, galinhada, cashew nuts, vegetable cassava stew, and of course, lots of cassava to go with it!

About Brazil Restaurant Week

For 17 years, Brazil Restaurant Week has been held in more than 20 Brazilian cities, with the aim of expanding access to good food and boosting the gastronomic market during times of low seasonality. During the festival, participating restaurants in each city prepare a special menu, with a fixed price and within the theme chosen for the edition. In São Paulo, the event started on April 19 and ends on May 19. On the
