Decorated houses, streets lit up with fairy lights, lush pine trees and themed music playing everywhere. This description could easily make you imagine houses in the United States decorated for Christmas, but the truth is that many Brazilian cities have also embraced the cozy atmosphere of the season and invested in incredible decorations to celebrate the date. With tourist attractions (most of them free), Brazil changes colors during the month of December, and shades of red and green take over the cities. If you love Christmas and are looking forward to the date, you can start enjoying it now.

One of the most traditional events in the city of Serra Gaúcha, Natal Luz starts well in advance, and by the end of October you can already see the streets of Gramado decorated. With a vast free program and some paid attractions, the city brings together different attractions, the main highlight being an allegorical parade with Christmas figures. There is also a light show. Called " Nativitaten ", a floating stage in the middle of the Serra Park Lake puts on an annual show with pyrotechnics, music and lots of joy that moves those who watch.

Known as a German village in the interior of São Paulo, Campos do Jordão is a popular destination for its winter festival, but it has been attracting many tourists in December with its Christmas programming. One of the main parks, Parque Capivari , has a full schedule with shows and even a meeting with Santa Claus. In addition, the season will bring back nostalgia. A partnership was established between the Lia Maria Aguiar Foundation and Turma da Mônica , and in addition to a giant sculpture of Mônica herself welcoming the park, other characters and shows can be seen, recalling the magic of being a child in a time that evokes feelings of family and love.

An illuminated tunnel is one of the highlights of the city and thrills tourists who come to visit this little piece of Europe in the middle of Rio de Janeiro. Santa's house is the most important stop during your visit. There, you will not only be able to visit Santa Claus, but also taste artisanal chocolates made in the city, and enjoy an abundance of shops.
