The penthouse in Pinheiros with a view of the São Paulo
skyline seemed like the perfect property for the young couple who love to entertain friends and family at home. But since parties happen there, rain or shine, they needed a solution for the
terrace , which until then was completely open.
To solve the problem, architect
Rodrigo Barbosa , from the
RG Arquitetura office and
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro team, developed a
retractable and motorized metal roof with reflective glass , which reduces the incidence of ultraviolet rays by up to 70%.
"This way, they can enjoy the space both on mild days, with the space completely open, and on rainy or very sunny days, when the terrace can be closed and air-conditioned without having to spend so much on air conditioning," guarantees the architect.
The outdoor area, for example, has an
eco-deck around the hot tub and nautical rope furniture. The green chairs are charming in their own right and contrast with the
off-white upholstery and neutral-toned furniture in the indoor area, which includes a kitchen, TV room and a balcony with a view of the
skyline .
On the first floor, the décor follows a contemporary style with soft tones that highlight the navy blue upholstery of the sofa. Wooden doors, panels and stairs help to warm up the space. The lighting project uses micro LEDs that leave the ceilings clean, illuminating works and furniture. The carpentry is clean to allow the family memorabilia to be the highlight.
"It is a timeless space that values a more affective architecture, highlighting in the decoration the objects that are important to the residents", concludes Rodrigo.
