With just
55 m² and two bedrooms, this apartment in the Port Zone of Rio de Janeiro is home to a couple with two children who enjoy entertaining and seek a relaxed and cosmopolitan lifestyle. To optimize the area, the family called on
Studio Leandro Neves – from the
CASACOR Rio team – who worked mainly on integrating the spaces.

In this way, the architect developed a new
layout without demolishing the walls. “
The kitchen , dining room and living room interact, with a strategic shelf that houses the television as a separation. Even with reduced dimensions, we were able to anticipate all the needs of a practical home, with well-designed carpentry, bringing form and function to the spaces”, says Leandro.
The color palette was defined with the intention of creating a light and sunny atmosphere, based on a neutral base of sand tones to gray . Gray porcelain tiles were used in the social area and bathrooms. An off-white ceramic tile with concave pieces forms a modernist-inspired panel, creating a backdrop that unites the living room and hallway.

The carpentry uses a light, faded wood pattern, which appears on the kitchen cabinet and the bedroom panels. Touches of color appear on the gray bookshelf in the living room and in the children's bedroom. In the wet areas, Itaúnas white granite was used, with a brushed finish.

The furniture is predominantly light and light fabrics, with a focus on Brazilian design pieces such as the Lina chair by Felipe Madeira, the table designed by Studio Leandro Neves and developed by Estúdio Vira, and the sofa, which has an armrest on only one side. “This is a contemporary and timeless project that seeks to elevate the sensory experience through textures that provide visual and tactile comfort at the same time,” says Leandro.
