To work on a
600 m² historic house in the Pacaembu neighborhood (SP), architect
Daniela Funari – from the
CASACOR SP lineup – researched the entire history of the surroundings. "Working with old properties is a gift, especially when we can maintain some essential features of the building that bring an immaterial value to the project," explains the professional about the renovation that ended up turning into a
retrofit.
The revitalization process began in the living room of the
house, with the
restoration of the floors and the wooden slats that make up the fireplace's frame, highlighting the piece and creating a welcoming and comfortable projects for the colder days.
The
curved lines – especially in the windows – original to the building, were preserved and used as portals to separate rooms and projects, maintaining the integration and increasing the sense of spaciousness.
"The curved lines provide a classic and rustic air that I took advantage of throughout the project," says Daniela, who also arranges the loose furniture respecting this layout.
In addition to the revitalization of all the floors, another complete change was in the lighting project of the property. "All the fixtures were replaced by more powerful equipment," says the professional.
The renovation also created resources to further leverage the natural light from the windows. In the
home office, the large window with white frames offers a lighter, clearer, and brighter projects, making the workplace more relaxed. The smart cabinetry was custom-made, creating niches for decoration pieces and also for work items like books, printer, and organizing boxes – not to mention, of course, the spacious workspace designed to accommodate two people and the various available drawers.
The outbuilding located next to the pool, in the external area, was renovated to create a complete home theater. As part of the changes for the new environment, the lights of the space were replaced with more powerful fixtures and a sofa bed was added to ensure comfort and versatility of the projects.
For the wall covering where the sofa was placed, the texture of the covering added charm to the projects, with square, rectangular, and cubic bricks, creating a true
three-dimensional mosaic.
The curtain has a large extent and covers all the glass doors, ensuring comfort and privacy when watching series and movies, even if the pool area is being used. To complete the modernization, Daniela built a large sliding door, which was installed right in the center of the outbuilding. With this resource, the possibilities of using the space are increased, providing more privacy and another way to divide the home theater.
