Signed by architect
Ana Cano Milman (from the cast of
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro), this
apartment of
80 m² in Botafogo (RJ) marks the realization of a dream for a young couple from Rio: to transform their first property into a home with soul and style, without giving up practicality.

More than a renovation, the project was marked by a special harmony that already existed between the residents and the architect from the start. "They are very special people, and their good energy directly influenced the fluidity of the process. We met because our kids played basketball together at Fluminense, and right from the start we felt a connection. I already knew it would be delightful to work with them," says Ana.

The proposal was clear:
to create a modern, welcoming home full of personality, reflecting the family's light and relaxed lifestyle. For this, the social area was completely integrated —
living room, dining area, and
kitchen merged into a single, fluid, and practical space.
The starting point was a 2.20 m sofa, brought from the old house, which helped define the entire layout organization.

The decoration balances earthy tones, custom carpentry, and natural materials such as wicker, light wood, and plants. "
Since the residents are passionate about plants and insisted on bringing them indoors, each little corner received a different natural species, which gave the space a very special touch," says Ana.

A
perforated metal panel visually connects the rooms and also serves a decorative function. The kitchen was given a shade of green that extends to the dining room, bringing freshness and unity. The TV room became cozier with cabinets in a "solar" tone and furniture that blends the modern with the handcrafted.

The couple's son actively participated in the decisions about his bedroom. A musician, athlete, and dedicated reader, he wanted a place that reflected his passions and accommodated everything: drums, bass, books, backpacks, medals... The solution was to create a
panel with hooks to keep everything organized without compromising the look. The room also gained a study desk and a modern wardrobe, with black doors and ribbed glass.

In the social bathroom, the architect opted for a mosaic of black and white tiles, contrasting with the gray walls.

In the
couple's bedroom, the original carpentry remained, but the doors were replaced with more modern models. Additionally, Ana added a neutral headboard that serves as a base for a delicate hand-painted foliage mural in soft tones, adding charm and lightness to the space. The ensuite bathroom follows the same theme: colorful tiles cover the shower, while a niche next to the mirror was designed to accommodate perfumes and everyday items. A wooden cabinet finishes off with a touch of coziness.
