The architect
Rodrigo Barbosa – from the cast of
CASACOR Rio – is responsible for the radical renovation of this
400 m² duplex, tearing down many walls so that the wonderful landscape can be seen from almost every corner of the house. And the view is worth it: the

The result was a spacious floor with three areas that receive natural light. A careful layout of the floor covering and wooden panels, varying between smooth and slatted surfaces, was made to complement this goal.

"The project gave a more modern look to the property, characterized by straight lines, large glass panels, and metal structure, incorporating furniture and artworks from the residents' old house to preserve the family's emotional memory," says Rodrigo.

On the upper floor, the structure was completely rebuilt to create a
rooftop that maximizes the view and is ideal for entertaining friends and family. The ceiling height was raised by 1.20 m, with total removal of the original roof. The new roof, with a metal structure and reflective glass panels, provides an unobstructed view of the sky and filters up to 70% of sunlight, keeping the interior cool.

"We opted for modern coatings, such as large porcelain slabs and engineered marbles, aiming at sustainability and ease of maintenance. These materials were combined with certified natural elements, such as woods, stones, and fabrics for upholstery and curtains, achieving a comfortable balance between industrial and natural," he explains.

On the rooftop terrace, there is a separate chapter: the swimming pool.
Envisioned to create an illusion of visual continuity with the Lagoon, it was designed with an infinity edge, establishing a fluid connection between the water surface and the surrounding landscape. (Gustavo Bresciani/Divulgação)
Moreover, the
landscaping played a crucial role, creating a tropical atmosphere with a horizontal garden and a vertical garden, using various species of
philodendrons and ground covers.
