The renovation of the apartment of entrepreneur
Andrea Maturano, co-founder of the developer Areaum Participações, in Leblon (RJ), embodies the essence of a welcoming minimalism that combines the timelessness of pastel tones with the functionality of selected furniture. The project, signed by the
Quintino Facci office – part of the
CASACOR São Paulo showcase – aimed to provide comfort, elegance, and authenticity.

The architect seeks to create a story for each color, piece, and room present in the
apartment. Through modern arrangements, the project takes advantage of the light from windows and skylights to compose light and cozy projects.

Shelves, doors, and panels are made of walnut, and bamboo appears on the ceiling of the intimate corridor, which connects the
bedrooms to the main entrance.

According to the architect, the solution found to balance minimalism, aesthetics, and functionality was to innovate with the materials. "We developed wooden and linen doors that allow both separation and integration of the living room and the kitchen, providing versatility to the project. This made it possible to create sliding panels that hide the TV, transforming the device into a true work of art and adding a cultural and sophisticated touch to the project," he says.

For Andrea Maturano, the secret to living well is thinking about the details that we see in our daily lives. "During the time I lived in London, I used to ask myself: 'how does a city that is gray most of the year manage to amaze the world?'. Simple: through nuances and, above all, functionality. It was from this London
insight that I asked Facci to design an apartment with this minimalist aesthetic, which combines practical and versatile characteristics of everyday life with a touch of coziness and sophistication. Today, less than four months after the renovations, that desire has become my home," she concludes.
