After 20 years living in São Paulo, the couple (he, from São Paulo; she, from Rio de Janeiro) decided to move to Rio de Janeiro so that their 8-year-old daughter could spend more time with the family that lives in the capital of the state. The chosen property was a
330 m² apartment in the Riserva Uno condominium, in Barra, with a view of the golf course, the mountains, and the sea.

Renovated by interior designer
Claudia Infante – from the cast of
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro – the apartment received
contemporary decor, with planned carpentry and the reuse of items from the previous residence, such as designer furniture and a wall clock, a family heirloom.

"In São Paulo, the apartment was very urban, with shades of gray and dark wood. In Rio, they wanted to maintain this more contemporary identity, but with the freshness and lightness that the city demands. Therefore,
we opted for lighter shades as a base for the decoration," explains Claudia.

The
kitchen was completely redesigned to accommodate a support pantry with a dining table and a tower for appliances, many cabinets, and a large pantry. In the social area,
the carpentry was used to bring unity to the projects, helping to camouflage the various doors that are there: entrance, powder room, kitchen, intimate circulation; in addition to delimiting the entrance hall, covered by a wooden box.

In the living room, a
generous shelf with niches of different sizes was created to store the couple's travel memories and sentimental objects, as well as accommodating the TV discreetly, creating an environment where the family can frequently gather. The piece also extends to the dining area, embedding the access door to the intimate area, and also serving as a china cabinet. Another resource used there was to cover the entire back wall of the dining room with a
mirror that brings the view into the apartment.

The
balcony kept its original frame. This way, it can be integrated or isolated from the rest of the social area. The space gained practicality with
sink, coffee point, wine cellar, beer fridge, and portable pizza oven. In addition to different projects: dining table; a gathering area with armchairs and coffee table; and a reading and contemplation nook with a chaise, located in front of the master suite.

A highlight of the project is the circulation corridor. Often forgotten, it was very well utilized with a good lighting project and a closet that serves both as a linen cabinet and as a storage space for internet and automation equipment.

For the intimate area, which maintained the four
original suites, a single natural wood flooring was chosen. The master suite was the space that had the greatest layout change: the area gained a large walk-in closet for her; and a large wardrobe for him; as well as a reading corner with a wooden panel and comfortable armchairs for the couple. The bed was positioned facing the view. And the
bathroom gained more functionality with a new countertop and planned carpentry.

The daughter's room was designed to grow with her. Today, the carpentry is filled with toys and also accommodates space for studying, watching TV, hosting friends, and playing. The colors are light and soft, just like the girl's personality.

The third suite was transformed into an office for the father, who works in the financial market. There, in addition to a workspace with a desk, a niche carpentry was created that holds books and video games. A large TV, a comfortable sofa, and a state-of-the-art sound system complement the projects that is also used for him to host friends for game afternoons/nights.

The fourth suite has a dual function. In daily life, it is an exclusive space for the resident with a vanity, TV, and sofa. But it can also be used to host guests. "It's a family that loves to host friends at home and values organization. Therefore, everything was thought out down to the smallest details to bring functionality, with many storage spaces and specific areas for each family member to have their moment of privacy," concludes Claudia.
