The young couple consists of a musician and a journalist. In common: a taste for contemporary art, good music, and reading. Therefore, the request to the architect
Neto Cunha, from the
CASACOR Bahia roster, was for a house with integrated common areas that would encourage coexistence and interaction, as well as individual spaces dedicated to their work and individualities.
The special request included a vinyl record shelf to store their vast collection and a music studio on the upper floor.

"I usually say that in my projects, the style comes from the client themselves, and I take on the mission of reconciling all desires so that everything comes together harmoniously in a contemporary and timeless way," says Neto Cunha. In this case, meticulous care was taken when designing the cabinetry.

"It's important to remember that there are three types of vinyl record sizes:
single (7 inches), EP (10 inches), and LP (12 inches), with the latter being the most common size. For the classic 12-inch LPs, I suggest compartments with a minimum size of 35x35x35cm — ideal proportions to comfortably accommodate the covers, avoiding strain when handling them. The widths vary according to the design of the furniture and their proportions, but I suggest modules of up to 45 cm, enough to keep the records well aligned without being visually heavy," he explains.

Another tip is to always store the records upright, to avoid warping, preserve the artwork, and facilitate visibility for choosing and playing. Here, the works gained prominence with lighting made from embedded LED profiles in the cabinetry, which gives a cinematic air to the composition.

Beyond the music, the project is also defined by an ode to Brazilian identity. "The clients genuinely appreciate Brazilian art that is present in the apartment, as seen in local crafts and popular art expressed through ceramics, sculptures, and photographs," says Neto. Ah! There, on the shelf, the collection of records from Brazilian artists gained a dedicated and prominent spot.
