Economist Marcela Steiman exchanged her
apartment in Leblon for a
280 m² duplex in Barra da Tijuca (RJ), looking for more space and quality of life for herself and her 12-year-old daughter. The empty property underwent renovations led by architect
Bianca da Hora, from the
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro lineup, focused on finishes and lighting, with no demolitions.

The contemporary decoration, completely new, includes pieces such as the Rosá coffee table (
Maria Cândida Machado), the Diz armchairs and the Magrini bench (
Sergio Rodrigues), the Curt armchair (
Tadeu Paisan), the Chuva mirror (
Leo Romano), the Leve chairs, the Jardim table and the Nutts lamps (
Jader Almeida), in addition to the Alice chaise (
Aristeu Pires), the Alça side tables (
Guilherme Wentz) and the Bó magazine holder (
Francisco Pinto).

The intimate living room on the second floor, with white décor and muxarabi dividers, enhances the view of Lagoa da Tijuca and creates an integrated space for mother and daughter to live, work, and study together. The biggest challenge was aligning the residents' desires with the budget, a result considered positive by the architect.
