Every decision in an interior architecture project carries, beyond the residents’ wishes and personal tastes, specificities that translate the expertise of the professionals who sign the work. In this apartment of 77 m², located in the charming Cacupé neighborhood, in Florianópolis, architects Alexandre Müller and Marcelo Wolschick, from the firm Woho Arquitetura (and part of the CASACOR Santa Catarina lineup), bet on the counterpoint between tones to create an elegant and functional atmosphere.

By steering away from warm, exuberant colors, the duo presents a palette that takes dark wood as the main focal point. From this choice, softer hues appear in the loose furniture, providing a less obvious union. “This is a project in which we sought a unity of colors that permeates the apartment completely. It's as if all the spaces converse with one another. There is no visual deviation; what exists is a complete unity of tones that brings the residents a sense of lightness and well-being”, points out Marcelo.

The unity they refer to is imprinted across all the custom millwork in Scarlet MDF. Starting with the kitchen and the laundry, which together form a single piece. The dining and living rooms — featuring the Cecília shelving unit by Juliana Pippi and the media console, both also wood-toned — are filled with furniture such as the table paired with Bow chairs by Fernando Zanardi, the sofa, the Melt mirror by Luciano Santelli, and the rug in shades ranging from white to off-white.

The green of the plants and the terracotta orange of the pillow, vases, and throw bring the necessary warmth to the spaces. Among the names that make up the décor are creations by Domingos Tótora, Pia Laus, Suka Braga, OPano, Iludi, Studio Pedrazzi, Nara Ota, Sui, Estúdio Dentro, Studio Thiago Bicas, Heloísa Galvão and By Gabs.

In the bedrooms, the wardrobes continue with the same wood tone and are paired with gray on the headboards and an almost cloud-white in the linens, while small touches of black on the nightstands do not clash at all. Alexandre adds: “seeking a bias toward natural materials, the textiles throughout the apartment also received natural pieces, produced on a handloom”.

In the white bathroom , the cabinet is also Scarlet MDF, as on the balcony, where the grill and sink cabinetry remain the same. The chairs in this space are the famous Itapuã, by DonaFlor Mobília. And the countertops, in yet another demonstration of visual unity, were designed in Itaúnas White with a flamed finish, which brings rusticity without exaggeration.

Another highlight is the lighting in the rooms, where the Imperial pendant and the Vetro paflon, both signed by lighting designer and expert Waldir Júnior, create an intimate and cozy atmosphere for the project.
