Initially designed for a young childless couple in their first home, this
apartment of
1,184 sq ft had to transform when the client discovered she was pregnant. The major challenge of the project, signed by architect
Natan Gil – from the
CASACOR São Paulo lineup – was adaptation.

The original layout, which prioritized the
living room and the
kitchen for entertaining friends, had to be molded to the new family structure. "
The second bedroom, which was to be a guest room and office, had to be converted into the baby’s bedroom," explains the architect. To meet this new demand and ensure an apartment with spacious and fluid projects,
the team opted for a complete renovation, which included the demolition of one of the bedrooms and the window frames on the balcony to expand the living room, in addition to removing the wall that separated the kitchen from the service area. (Estúdio NY18/Divulgação)
The inspiration for the design came from the search for a sophisticated and welcoming aesthetic. The neutral color palette and the choice of noble materials were fundamental in creating this atmosphere. One of the highlights is the use of brushed travertine marble to cover the living room wall and the kitchen countertop, bringing a natural and elegant texture.

The brushed absolute black granite on the island, the TV stand, and the kitchen countertop, in turn, adds a contemporary touch and subtle contrast.

In the
master suite, the team faced the challenge of optimizing the closet space, which was limited. The solution was to create, in addition to the main wardrobe, a support wardrobe in the corridor leading to the bedrooms, ensuring more storage space for the couple.

The selection of furniture and design objects was also thought to reflect the personality of the residents. The Ondine armchair by
Jorge Zalszupin was a coveted piece for the client and became a focal point in the projects, harmonizing with the project's identity. Other furniture and lighting fixtures by renowned designers, such as
Wentz Design, Gustavo Bittencourt, and
Lucas Recchia, further enrich the design of the apartment.
