Shortly after acquiring this
apartment of
76 m² in the Jardim Botânico, in the southern zone of Rio de Janeiro, the couple Cinthia Galvão (
@gavi_cc, branding specialist and digital influencer) and Edson (engineer), alongside her 15-year-old daughter Maria Clara, sought the firm
PN+ | Paula Neder – from the
CASACOR cast – to lead the complete renovation and decoration of their new home — where the family's little dog, Amora, a friendly boston terrier, also lives.

From the start, the clients had very clear demands:
the project needed to be cozy, functional, free of excesses, and above all, timeless, in addition to featuring a German corner in the living room for family meals and a shared office for the couple. "Cinthia brought references from fashion and decoration, areas in which she works, and wanted the apartment to reflect her personality, but without the risk of becoming dated," says Paula Neder.

However, right in the early stages of the construction, the biggest technical challenge arose: "During the demolition,
we discovered that all the walls were made of structural concrete. Thus, it was not possible to demolish or alter the layout as we had initially thought, and we had to redo the entire project," recalls the architect. The solution for the redistribution of the electrical part also required creativity: unable to embed new points in the walls, the entire installation was carefully planned and camouflaged within the custom-made cabinetry.

With the layout practically preserved, the final layout includes an integrated
living room, TV, and dining area, a restroom, a
couple's bedroom, a shared office (which also serves as Cinthia's closet), a
social bathroom, the daughter's room, a
kitchen, a service area, and complete dependencies.

In the decoration, the
neutral palette – designed to withstand fashion trends – combines
natural wood, cement-like porcelain applied to the flooring throughout the apartment
, white walls, and
exposed concrete surfaces, intentionally preserved at the request of the resident to create an elegant contrast. "The idea was to balance the brutality of the concrete with the delicacy of the other finishes and furniture," emphasizes the architect.

In the living room, some highlights of signed design compose the projects, such as the iconic Tulip dining table by
Eero Saarinen; the Milla chair and the Asti side table, both by
Jader Almeida; in addition to the drinks cart Tapioca, created by
Adalfan Filho. The custom cabinetry not only organizes and optimizes the space but also integrates the dining, living, and TV areas harmoniously and functionally. "The living room has a reduced area, so every centimeter needed to be well utilized. Once again, the cabinetry played a fundamental role in the integration of the projects," points out the architect.

The chosen artworks also impart personality to the decoration. In the living room, the painting by artist
Claude Imperial on the main wall stands out, with a predominance of pink, green, and black tones, and the mother-of-pearl weave signed by
Mônica Carvalho. Claude's work even inspired the choice of the pied-de-poule fabric for the seat of the dining bench, bringing a subtle reference to fashion, a universe so present in the life of the resident.

In the bedrooms, the cozy and timeless atmosphere continues. In the couple's bedroom, the exposed structural concrete combines with the natural wood cabinetry headboard, while touches of red in the bedding add warmth to the projects. Meanwhile, Maria Clara's bedroom was designed to be delicate, with organized space for study and storage.
