Signed by architects Roberta Moura and Paula Faria (from the CASACOR Rio de Janeiro lineup), this 400 m² duplex penthouse is located in Leblon (RJ). The property was purchased by a couple in their 40s, with two young daughters, drawn by the possibility of transforming the originally linear unit into a two-story residence.

The proposal began with the complete construction of the second floor, which did not exist in the original plan, concentrating the social area on the first level and allocating the upper one to the four suites and the family room. The configuration of the lower level was also completely reworked to accommodate integrated living and dining, a terrace with a pool, a home office with a TV (with sliding doors that allow the space to be isolated), and a kitchen with service quarters.

Among the main challenges were the structural execution of the new floor and the creation of spacious, functional, and genuinely lived-in projects, as well as installing the pool and a barbecue station on the terrace.

In the social area, the neutral, understated base is defined by limestone flooring, which extends to the veranda, reinforcing the integration provided by the large glass sliding doors. Custom-designed millwork in peroba converses with pieces by Brazilian designers and artworks from the residents' collection.

The staircase, also clad in limestone and with a glass railing, leads to the upper floor, where articulated peroba-wood louvers ensure safety and aesthetic unity. The project was developed and approved in two months, and execution with the finishing of the decor took about a year.
