The project to transform this linear penthouse in the city of Brasília stemmed from the family's desire to create a true suspended house, with the premise of preserving the view of the sky and the connection with the surroundings. The feeling of not being limited to the space of a housing unit guided the entire unfolding of the architecture.
The project from
Studio Gontijo Arquitetura – part of the
CASACOR Brasília lineup – sought maximum possible integration between the internal and external. Considering the building's structure,
large glass panels were proposed to divide the two projects, transforming the external area into an extension of the living room. The comfortable and functional distribution of the projects brought greater amplitude and brightness to the
living room, which practically merges with the gourmet space, the garden, and the pool. In addition to creating a large project connecting the social area and the intimate area, the office's proposal was to preserve the privacy of the bedrooms, maintaining the desired amplitude and opening. Access to this restricted area of the residents is along a glass wall that houses the clients' wine cellar. The intimate TV room, in turn, creates the ideal project that distributes access to the
bedrooms and the
kitchen.
Maintaining a simple aesthetic language, the use of natural materials was valued. Wood was widely used for the finishes and furniture proposed for the apartment.
The coverage of the gourmet space is made by a glass pergola, covered by straw mats on its lower part, reducing solar incidence and heat. Always betting on a palette of neutral colors,
the suspended pool 21 floors above the ground stands out as a niche of green that brings the feeling of being in the backyard of a house.
