Developed by
Patrícia Martinez Arquitetura – part of the
CASACOR São Paulo lineup – the AMEF Residence establishes a subtle boundary between residential architecture and the vegetation of Ibirapuera Park, delivering a project where the sensation of living in a cosmopolitan city like São Paulo is not perceptible to its residents – a couple seeking a strong connection with nature aligned with a healthy and sports-oriented lifestyle.
On the facade of the house, the
vertical slat cladding made of ecologically treated Finnish pine and the base of
stone masonry reflect a commitment to sustainable choices. The choice of this finish was also considered for long-term aesthetics, as the wood gradually ages naturally, acquiring an appearance similar to the trunks of the surrounding trees.
The positioning of the house was planned to preserve as much of the green area of the lot as possible. The residence was placed to the right to allow for the installation of a
20-meter long biological pool. In this pool, the water is treated through a natural cycle: aquatic plants produce biomass through photosynthesis, which is consumed by microorganisms. These microorganisms transform organic matter into inorganic matter, such as carbon dioxide and minerals, essential for plant growth. This ecological cycle guarantees the maintenance of the water quality in the pool.
Additionally, at the back of the area,
a sauna is framed by a green wall, contributing to the integration of the architectural structure with the external vegetation and the landscaping of the project.
The volumetry of the residence refers to the concept of "contemporary barn", distributed over two floors: on the ground floor, the social area is located, where the
living room, the
dining room, and the
kitchen are highlighted. Also on the same level, there is a gourmet area, as well as a
service bathroom and a guest lavatory, featuring a custom-made concrete table. Above, the intimate area of the
bedrooms, prominently the couple's suite designed with a view of the park's vegetation.
The large glazed openings and the customized modular windows ensure a fluid integration between the internal and external projects, as well as constant ventilation.
Designed to accompany the couple throughout their lives, the project includes accessibility plans, such as a
elevator that connects all four floors, from the basement – where the garage, service area, and a storage room are located – to the rooftop. Comfort and accessibility also extend to pets, with interior and exterior floors featuring a certain grip in their texture, ensuring the safety of the paws of the dogs that live there.
As a result, the AMEF Residence reflects the importance of architecture that, even when intended for private property, communicates with the surroundings of the city, having as its premise architecture as an element that contributes to urban design and history.
